Pelvic Pain

Pelvic pain is more common in women that it is in men. It can be acute (sudden onset of new pain) or it can be chronic (Pain that lasts for a period of 6 months or more). 

There are many causes of pelvic pain some of which include:

  • Pregnancy related pain

  • Childbrith/postnatal issues

  • Musculoskeletal issues

  • Endometriosis

  • IBS

  • Fibroids

  • Inflammatory conditions

  • Painful bladder syndrome

  • Psychological factors

In general, it is important to make an appointment with your doctor to discuss your symptoms and seek appropriate management.

Physiotherapy and lifestyle changes may help.
