Who Am I?

I’m Gillian pelvic health physiotherapist & Pilates instructor. I know this sounds cheesy but I do love what I do!

It took me 6 years to become a physiotherapist going through an HND as a mature student initially I had no idea where I would be. Physiotherapy pretty much landed on my lap as did women’s health Physiotherapy. I was lucky enough to rotate through women’s health as a junior physio in a wonderful team and I instantly loved it!

I did some more rounds of junior rotations till I applied for a senior post in obstetrics & gynaecology and I have never looked back. This is just the area I am meant to be in....cheesy as that sounds too.

I have been lucky enough to gain valuable experience through my senior NHS role and few years back went private so I now juggle a week of NHS, 2 private pelvic heath clinics, 5 live Pilates classes and 1 online zoom class.

I love helping women with various pelvic issues to change their quality of life, help build confidence and return to the many things they love.

I am not a mum myself but I have a wonderful husband and 2 lovely step children.

I am a bit of a gym fanatic and love lifting weights that’s why I love helping women return to higher impact activity including weight lifting as I know the health benefits it holds and also the impact it has on our mental health.

I think there is still a lot of fear and anxiety out there about rehabilitation during and after pelvic health problems however the awareness and education is improving and I think we need to keep empowering women along their pelvic heath journey.
