Bladder Dysfunction

According to the World Health Organisation, bladder problems affect more than 200 million people worldwide.

The NHS estimate that between 3 and 6 million people in the UK have some degree of urinary incontinence.

The normal function of the bladder is to store urine until we are ready to empty, however issues such as leaking, increased frequency and urgency or pain are a sign that your bladder is not functioning properly.

The evidence is strong that pelvic health physiotherapy can help. The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines recommend that women should be offered lifestyle education and a period of 3 months supervised pelvic floor training with stress or mixed urinary incontinence.
